video!

There is SO much I want to write & share, but I will do a full on recap of this beautiful week as soon as I get home, I promise. I'm packing for our show in Boulder tonight at The Laughing Goat.

Tomorrow we are in Denver at The Walnut Room. We will also celebrate our friend John Kirchner's b-day....it is destined to be a verrrrry fun night. Please come out if you are in the area!!

Quick update:
We shot a music video this week. My brother directed it (he requested that I publicly thank him for flying down to Austin in the hot-ass summer to do this for me.) Thank you, Joey. I love you very much.

We've been working so hard to pull off the impossible for the past 2 months, and I believe we did it. We gave EVERYTHING. I thank everybody who participated in this labor of love. You know who you are. I hope you feel like you were a part of something great, because that's how I feel. I feel like we took a song, a simple piece of art, and made so much more. It's cool how things spiral & grow. One thing leads to another, and we become better people. I'm inspired by the crew & the vision of the director & DP, and the work ethic of our producer. Wow.

Now, my goal is for every single human on planet Earth to see this video. Not quite sure how I'm going to pull that one off, but I believe in this project so much.

The video should be up in the next few weeks. Pictures will be trickling out onto various sites...facebook, autumnonline, etc. A few shots (compliments of Sam Houston Murphy) are showcased below)

My brother, the director. He calls himself 'The Jackal' --- he lives in LA, writes & directs. Check out his website: www.joeybouk.com

The chair. I love the yellow chair.

Grand piano ballroom scene. Joey is offering me direction, making sure my big face can fit in the shot. Thank you to Yamaha for somehow getting this brand new baby grand in the basement of the Scottish Rite. thank you to Betsey Johnson for making beautiful dresses. Thank you to Whitney Miller for letting me wear your Louboutin heels!!

My little sister, Sunny, decorated the set for this shot. It is supposed to emulate my living room, which really does look like this: random stacks of paper scattered everywhere...mismatched pillows...my sweet guitar....

Jen Hoover did makeup/hair: www.jenihoover.com

Thank you to the Scottish Rite Theatre in San Antonio!!! Beautiful location!!!!

The band: The Mystiqueros. These guys have all played a gigantic role in my music & life. They are filled with generosity & love. From left to right: Walt Wilkins, Johnny Gringo, Rob Albertson, Ray Rodriguez, Bill Small

first shot of the day. Again, Thank you Betsey Johnson for the dress. check out that ceiling!!! Sooo cool --
